Angie Bastian

Angie Bastian, co-founder and namesake of Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP took a kernel of an idea and popped it into one of the fastest growing brands of natural popcorn.

It started in 2001 when Angie and her husband Dan, bought a kettle online and began popping kettle corn at local markets, events and their garage.  What began as a college fund nest egg and a way to teach their children the value and integrity of work has grown into a business that employs over 200 people. It was her desire to make food that she felt good about feeding her kids and that her kids loved to eat.  Food that tastes great with real, simple ingredients and nothing artificial. The brand Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP is now proudly sold in all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and South Korea in natural food, grocery, club and major retail outlets.

Angie’s has twice won Star Tribune’s Top Workplaces honor. Dan and Angie are recipients of the 2015 ACG BOLD Award for corporate growth and they shared Connect Business Magazine’s 2012 Person of the Year award.  Girl Scouts' Centennial celebration honored her as a pioneering Trailblazer. MN DECA named Angie 2014 Outstanding Marketing Executive of the Year and she is a 2015 Inductee to the Minnesota Women Business Owner’s Hall of Fame.  She has been featured in the Huffington Post and appeared on the Martha Stewart Show. Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP has been recognized by numerous national publications and media.
