I manage regional economic development strategies at GREATER MSP, the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Regional Economic Development Partnership. Whether it’s safe and abundant food, clean water, or health, this region I work for has the industries, infrastructure, and institutions to lead the world in solving major global challenges. But most importantly, we have the people.
And it’s not just the tens of thousands already working directly in food who are important. My partner grew up farming, studied plant breeding, and works for our state’s Department of Agriculture. I grew up nowhere near a farm, studied journalism, policy, and business, don’t work for a food company, and don’t sell my own products. But guess what? Both of us belong to Minnesota’s food community. And so do you.
My commitment to Minnesota’s food community is a commitment to invite every last person to participate in, thrive in, and continue to grow that community. Because everyone is welcome.
